New Berlin Epoxy Flooring is an epoxy flooring contractor based in New Berlin, WI, with more than 20 years of experience preparing and coating concrete. We work on home garages and basements, plant and warehouse floors, storefronts, offices and restaurant kitchens across New Berlin and the surrounding communities.
After two decades on concrete, the lesson we keep relearning is simple. Floors rarely fail because of the color or the brand on the bucket; they fail because of what happened, or did not happen, before the first coat went down.
Our Approach
We start with the slab. Every floor is opened with a diamond grinder or shot blaster, never acid, and we read the cracks, joints and any old coating before we quote. When a slab needs repair or replacement before it can carry a coating, we say so plainly. Moisture testing is part of the scope from the beginning on garage and basement floors alike, because Wisconsin does not require a vapor retarder under an unconditioned attached garage, and a dry-looking floor is not always a dry one.
We put our work in writing. Each proposal names the product, the system build and the finished thickness, so what was quoted can be checked against what went down. Home jobs get a written contract, with the products and any warranty spelled out, before a deposit is taken, and we read the warranty exclusions out loud before the job is sold, with moisture from below first on the list. We do not sell a coating as radon reduction or as a fix for water coming up through a slab.
We schedule around the conditions and around you. Curing follows slab temperature and dew point rather than the calendar, so an unheated garage may wait for spring. Garage floors are built for the road salt and calcium chloride brine of a New Berlin winter, plant and warehouse joints are filled before forklifts cross them, and industrial floors are phased into shift breaks, weekends and shutdown weeks.
Restaurant floors are planned around Waukesha County Environmental Health plan review, and before a job that might need a permit is scheduled, we ask the City of New Berlin Department of Community Development or the local inspector. Grinding dust and slurry are collected on site and never washed into a floor drain or storm sewer.
